On arrival children are offered “free play” choosing activities, and moving around freely.
We then have a Large Group time where we all join in together with physical activities, action rhymes, drama or music and movement.
After milk and more “free play”, we all gather together on the carpet. We may talk about the weather and seasons, or our current theme, or celebrate a child’s birthday followed by singing and a story. After a short time we will return to the tables for more “free play” and different small group activities such as board games until home time.
Our older children are frequently taken in small groups for more demanding activities and age appropriate games to extend their concentration and abilities in preparation for moving on to nursery or school.
We run a Healthy Snack time between 9.30 & 11.00am where children are involved in preparing their snacks. Children are offered a choice of freshly cut fruit and vegetables and healthy snacks such as rice cakes, pitta breads with healthy fillings etc. They also have a choice of milk, fruit juice or water. Parents are asked to pay £5 a term to help pay for this.
